Gbenga Adebija has been appointed Director-General and Chief Executive of the Nigerian-German Business Association.Adebija is an accomplished administrator and entrepreneur with broad-ranging experience in the private and public sector.
Educated in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, Adebija held leadership positions at local, regional and global levels during his career at Cadbury Schweppes, Business in Nigeria and Ashton & Layton.
Mr. Folabi Esan, President of the Nigerian-German Business Association described Adebija’s appointment as a significant milestone in the annals of the NGBA. “We expect Gbenga Adebija to lead a transformational agenda for the achievement of our organizational objectives,” he said.
Founded in 1986 to promote bilateral trade between Nigeria and Germany, the Nigerian-German Business Association (NGBA) comprises representatives of the German business community in Nigeria, the Nigerian business community, the delegation of German Industry and Commerce/AHK Nigeria and m the German Embassy.
NGBA member companies have access to German Chambers of Commerce in 130 locations and 80 countries across five continents.Adebija has an impressive professional profile and is widely respected across the public, private and civic sectors within and outside Nigeria.He has consulted for international organisations such as, DFID/UKAID, Ribbon Rouge (Canada), ENABLE and Adam Smith International.
In 2003, he won the Award For Excellence, the highest and most prestigious Award in Cadbury for consistently excellent performance over a period of 10 years and was a key member of The Best Performing Team in 2002.
Adebija is also a recipient of numerous local and international awards including, the prestigious Global Brand Excellence Award in 2015 conferred by the World Brand Congress in Singapore.
He holds membership of professional and social organisations including the Public Relations Society of America and Ikoyi Club 1938.Adebija is married to Yetunde, CEO of Simply Posh Ltd, and the union is blessed with children.
